| Connecting to Stereo sys..
I want to connect my PC's sound card to the stereo in another room... What would be the cheapest way to go and still have good quality. It wont really be permanent ...just for Christmas muci in the other room...

For mine I just took a old RCA adapter cable from a walkman and used RCA gender changers to connect to a set of long RCA cables. Its probably the cheapest way to go, unless you buy RCA plugs and a roll of speaker cable and make your own RCA cables.

Can you buy a splitter to change the small output plug in the sound card into two RCA type connectors???...If so cand you just pick em up at Radio Shack??.
I have some speaker wire left over I could use to make the RCA cables.. |

| if your talking about what I think your talking about, then yes!! you mean, like a headphone jack to rca plugs?? yes, there is such thing, many discmans come with them for hooking the discman up to a stereo. and yes, radio shack should have them!

Yes you can get them at Radio Shack http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...5Fid=42%2D2483
Theres a link to the splitter. You can either cut the plugs off and solder speaker wire to it, and put a RCA plug on the end. Or you can get gender changers and make yourself some RCA's with the speaker wire. Good Luck.

P.S. Thay do have a cheaper and shorter version of this, but on the website it said it is anavailable at this time, but I am pretty sure that pertains only to the website

i do that. my stereo is about 1.5 feet from my pc, so i did that route mentioned above and it works beautifully.
i run a splitter from my audio out jack on my soundcard (in order to use both my comp speakers and my stereo) and then picked up a male to male 1/8" to rca cable at a show and hooked that into my stereo. it works beautifully, and i can use my stereo's high quality audio enhancements to make the sound come out nicely. |

Thats the same thing I do, except I let my stereo do all the fine tuning. Its audio processor is WAAAYYY more advanced than my PC's. I just feed my stereo the "line-out" from my sound card. |

well i have a soundblaster live! card, so it can do quite a bit of audio mixing on its own, which is nice. combine that with winamp's equalizer and i got some nice sounding music. |
