You're still going to need some special hardware to connect the VCR to the computer.

If you have a TV tuner card then you're all set.
If you don't have TV card (or some fancy video card that has an input jack) then I don't know quite how you could do this.

I haven't really done anything through the video ports but I
used the firewire input to stream video from my camera and
it worked good.

soulja
I picked up a couple of leadtek tv2000xp deluxe cards at Neweggs refurb bin awhile back for $25.00 each.
Nice card, well worth the $48.00 shipped for a new one.

if you dont go that way I recomend buying a ATI Tuner card. 60 bucks shiped for a good one
can also get the ones with remotes for a tad more. Can capture from TV like a TVIO and such also if A best buy is near you you can get a Dazzle for $60 that allows for input as well

Dazzle
I have a Dazzle Fusion that I bought used off ebay and it works great. My tv, video camera or vcr hook right up to it with composite cables or S video.

Just make sure the card or whatever you get has WHAT you want
no point in getting somthing you dont really need.
