Yeah i just got through looking at that and my head is still spinning. Would i be right in thinking the only solution is to encode the avi file using another program then burn the decoded file using nero. that or re-install everything?
    Thanks.

    Knowtaste,

It's been months since I've encoded an avi, but what I always did was to use tmpgenc to do the encoding and then www.vcdeasy.org to encode it. But, then again it used to be free.

    EDIT: Fixed errant website title.

Did you ever find out why that happened??

you can't just let this go, there has to be a reason, and maybe other people can benefit from your info

    Ok i fixed it.
i turned the svideo cable around, simple as that.
    NOT,
i downloaded ffdshow from doom9 installed it and searched the tabs for the one with the flip video option, checked it and burnt a perfect VCD. ofcourse all my bleeding AVIs are upside down now but thats easily sorted.
    Thanks guys.

    well
technically your brain already flips the images for normal sight, thus his glasses were "reflipping" it. lol

I do remember reading an article about that tho, dont remember the specficis but a guy wore a pair of glasses for a while (it was actualy more like 2 weeks not a couple days).

Since he wasnt used to it he was getting chronic headaches and finally had to stop wearing them

    i got it wrong.
FFDshow flips AVIs XG400 flips the Mpgs.
Ran wmedia player 9, xg400 sits in the system tray, i opened it and the option to flip input output etc is right there. this time it burnt the vcd right way up.
that will be me Blazing a path across a parking lot, no doubt.
