Failed to renew IP address.

What is going on? How does it renew the ip addy (where) and suggestions on what I've goofed up? Please?

I dont know much and problay wont help, but what O/S? where do you get this message? Are you useing a router? Gateway?
Maybe try start>run>winipcfg renew

start>run>ipconfig /renew

if it is a win 9x OS:

ipconfig /renew_all

in win9x... you can also use winipcfg

it's the gui for ipconfig..
