I am hooked up to the net using a router and i have a second nic/ethernet card on my computer. My xbox is in the same room and i dont want to have to bring another ethernet cable from 2 floors down. How do i set up my connections to have the inthernet throught the router and then from my computer to my xbox. Ps..my comp is set on DHCP, there is already 2 other computers on the router. |

go to the properties for your local area connection via the control panel / "my network places" and enabled ICS (internet connection sharing).
Connect the xbox to the 2nd NIC via a crossover cable.
REad the section on this page about windows ICS, ignore the fact that it says to use this with directly connected USB modems. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/connect/windowsics.htm
What OS are you using?

The only thing is you'll have to have your computer on all the time while you want to use your Xbox on the net.
You could always go wireless... but it'll cost you a few bucks.

Dont know why i didnt think of this before, but perhaps the easiest thing to do is just to buy a 4 port switch. You could attach the switch to the ethernet cord currently running to your computer, then plug both the computer and the xbox into the switch, somethign about like this: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...201-201&depa=5

if you enable ICS in windows you should be able to just set the xbox to automatically receive an IP |
