printer sharing

hey all, I have a winxp/98 home network sharing a lexmark 5150 printer off of the 98 comp. Was able to print from both, but since restoreing xp can't. I can get to shared files, and I can see the printer being shared, I added it to my printers and updated driver, any advice would be helpful... sao95

It shouldn't matter if you have the Printer drivers installed on both computers... because it will be using the drivers off the system that the printer is connected to.

Be sure that in the Printer Properties on the 98 machine has it listed as shared.
Go to the XP machine and Add the Printer... Browse for the Printer on your network and add it.
If it added successfully you should see it listed in the XP Printers and Faxes control panel.

fixed I deleted it from xp and then added it again, also for some reason had to print from a shared folder first. I tried to print from my docs on xp comp and it would freeze at the print screen each time, so I tried to print from a shared folder and it printed, after that no prob printing from anywhere, very weird.
