Connection to the internet

Good Day Everyone..

I have a slight problem. My laptop was having alittle trouble..I was able to surf the net yesterday night but this morning my laptop was lagging like mad and I tried doing a system restore

But it I kept getting the error msg "System Restore Incomplete"

I understand that there are probably lots of possibilities why my laptop screwed up..But I tot it would be nice if I can find a solution.

I just need to know wat I need to do to get the internet connection back again.

Please advise.

Yes. As in whenever your connection to the internet seems screwed up what do you do?

I also realise every time I connect my laptop to the LAN in my school.My computer is actually connected the the LAN. Its just that my ICQ MSN and my IE just won't start.
