Network Message over WiFi

is there any way to send a message to a computer linked to your wifi network? for example, if i have my network open and i see a computer connected to it that i do not recognize, is there anyway to send that computer a message?

vice versa, say i am connected to somones open network and they may or may not be aware that their network is open....can i send them a message warning them that i am able to access thier network?

i recently set up a wifi network and while i do not leave it open, i have driven around the neighborhood and connected to people's networks.....for internet access only. i have no knowledge on how to hack into thier computer, but i thought i could at least let them know that someone could steal thier bandwidth.

thanks.

Yes, in some cases.

Get Airsnare, this does what you want automatically after configuration.

Well actually sending a message to their personal network could be considered a hack attack......

but you can do the following you can check what houses have their networks open.... you can try to sell a cheap service helping them to having more security.... you can show them in your pc that their network is open....
