Can someone please tell me WHAT HAPPENED.When I connect to the internet all I can get is "Page cannot be displayed" regardless what I try to load. This all happened a couple days ago after I downloaded a file and got the" Trojan horse Downloader. Istbar.3.BE" virus, I ran AVG Anti-Virus and found 2 files contaminated and Isolated them. but still no internet.

what kind of ip address do you have? go to the run box, type "cmd" and in the dos prompt type "ipconfig /all "and post what you have for your ip address. |

it says "media disconnected"
check the network cable because its not finding a link. also check if you have lights on the back of the network card when you plug the cable in. it could be that the card got hosed. also, try resetting your modem. i assume you have cable or dsl right?
ps. also a little background on your system would help like what you use for internet connection, what o/s, yadda yadda

Thanks for the reply, Computer was disconnected when I made the ipconfig/all check, I was on another computer. For what ever reason when I went back on line with that computer, it went to work, after 2 days of giving me "Page cannot be displayed", it now works.
You can sure tell I am a truck driver and not a computer whiz.
Thanks for the help |

doubt it. i would run the spyware apps like adaware, spybot, and spy sweeper to name a few if you are sure you have gotten rid of the virus. never tried firefox so i cant help you but ive had no problems using mozilla at all. is using norton an option for A/V btw? its pretty decent but thats all id suggest from norton. |

The popups have nothing to do with FireFox. It's all Microsoft, they're just spamming you to make you use their browser again |
