Good Gb PCI cards

Looking for a gigabit PCI ethernet card (not fibre) that doesn't cost more than $50 or so. I've found good deals on Broadcom NICs, Intel doesn't seem that bad either, but I will consult the TIMO gods before I lay the smack down with my plastic.

As for switches, Newegg has an SMC 5-port Gb switch, that any good?

Intel NICs are normally good too.
