You wouldn't use a router. You'd either buy a dedicated Access Point or, since the AP/ROuter combo's are usually cheaper, go ahead and buy the integrated unit. You just wouldn't use the router funtion at all. You wouldn't use the WAN port on the second device and you wouldn't use it's DHCP server. The IP would only be for configuring. It would pass data transparently. It would be, in basic terms, a wireless hub. That is what AP's are. Nothing to configure on it except your security measures. It should allow you to change the default Local IP to something that matches your network. Might even allow it to be a DHCP client but possibly not. You'd just have to do it manually.
