| Can't share Internet in "Normal" mode, "Safe" mode works OK
We have a wireless network connection that works beautifully. All computers can see each other, talk, and share files.
The Wireless Laptop, has an internet connection that is shared. The Desktop can connect to the internet while it is in safe mode, but it can only connect to the network and not the internet in normal mode.
Any1 have any ideas how to fix this?
Both computers are WinXP Pro.
Network protocols are the same in both computers:
NetBIOS
IPX/SPX
TCP/IP
File Sharing, etc.
The network works, so it's not a problem of connectivity. |

If u can access LAN but not WAN sounds kind of like a DNS issue.
Perhaps they are configured automatically in safe mode and u have an incorrect manual setting in normal mode?
Are you using DHCP or static IPs?
I guess im having a hard time picturing exactly how your network is setup.
Are you using a router/switch? Or is the laptop serving as a server with ICS (which seems kind of odd). |

They are static IPs, and configured correctly.
-I am just trying to get the computers up and running with the ICS on the laptop at the moment. The desktop, for some reason, in normal mode, doesn't want to connect to the internet, even on it's own.
The laptop connects with no problem. -And both computers are perfectly fine running on the network.
Eventually, We are going to change the ICS to the desktop, and give the laptop the ability to roam. |

| same problem
I've got the exact same problem over here. I'm running in safe modus right now, because in normal modus my computer is really slow, and internet doesn't work. It's very annoying to have to be in safe mode in order to be able to access the internet. |
