| ICS, and file transfer between 2 local computer
1. Should I use the ICS, or another third-party program. Which is better?
And is there any recommendation of this type of third-party program?
2. How can I transfer files from my one computer to my another computer (apart from "thorugh Internet", or "through CD")?
I get:
- 1 straight cable is linked from ASDL modem to LAN No.1 in my host computer
- 1 cross-over cable is linked from LAN No.2 (in host computer) to my client computer
What do I need to set?
What software do I need to install? |

it'd probably be easier to buy a broadband router and connect your ADSL to it, and then plug in the 2 computers to the router; you can just transfer files via ftp if you want to setup a file server, or if theyre both windows you can just transfer via network neighborhood |

Dear soot,
Thanks for your idea. But it is not good to me. It is because I don't transfer files a lot. And the broadband router costs some money.
I'm setting network neighbourhood. But an error occurred saying I was not allowed to access to it. Do you know what I need to set? (step-by-step please. Thanks) |

The easiest way is to use file transfer in LAN. Most computers have NIC integrated. So you can transfer files in LAN quite easily.
And we need to know the OS in ur 2 computers to guide you accurately. If both use win XP, it should recognise together automatically. Or you can "set up a home or small office network". |

I know about one program that allows transferring files in any direction, it is called PC File Transfer . This program establishes a remote connection between two computers. As far as I know, it can work both in the direct connection mode and in the account one. |

I think they figured it out 5 years ago though. |
