How to test signal strength?

I'm wanting to know what my actuall signal strength is from my AP to several different spots around the house. Does anybody know of a way, without purchasing expensive testing equipment, that I could do this?

I don't have a linux box, but I do have Mandrake move, if their is something in linux that I could use.

Get netstumbler, it has a spiffy graph of the signal to noise ratio. www.netstumbler.com

netstumbler is great but it will only work on certain network cards.

search their forum before you ask a question there because they will ream you a new one if you ask something that has been asked 50 billion times

we bought some and they couldnt even find the wireless access point and we were right next to it!

there is a reason why those things arent popular
