USB MAC address?
I have to set up a Linksys router today for some folks who have been using just a cable modem and USB cable to their PC. Normally when I install a Linksys router, I clone the MAC address of the PC so I don't have to call the ISP and register a new MAC. But how does it work when you use a USB cable? What do the ISPs use to register the IP?

Does any mac show in ipconfig /all if the computer is still connected via USB? My guess is that there is a Nic in the modem and it is using that mac.
Just copy it down and enter it into the router if so.
JkrohnSignatures blow hard
If your signature contains an ad of any kind, congratulations, you're on my ignore list.

Actually it turned out Insightbb has a pretty smooth setup CD that took care of everything. Installation was a snap.
BTW, that sig almost sent me into an epileptic fit.

jkrohn, your signature is horrendous. Thank god for firefox and adblock, since i don't want to block all signatures.

you can google AV Music Morpher Gold from Audio4fun, it allows you to cut, paste, mix songs and add other effects as well! A cool software that I'm using at the moment! Hope it helps!
