Wireless Network problem

Here is my wireless setup. I have a Actiontec G701 internet gateway plus b/g wireless AP. This is connected to my desktop by ethernet. I have a laptop with a Orininco Silver wireless card, it is a b card.

Here is the problem, sometimes when I logon to the laptop it shows 2 wireless conncections. One is the regular one I see everyday, the other is a LAN on Linux IGD. When I go to Network Connections it is listed under Internet Gateway. This IGD is running at 614.4Kbps.

My Orininco card only has 64 bit WEP. When I go to my desktop and go to the ActionTec page at 192.168.0.1 and look at the active user list I see only the ip address for my laptop 192.168.0.7

I try to get a ip address for the Linux connection but am unable to. I am also unable to shut the connection down. Is this another person using my internet access?

If I understand correctly, there's just another wlan somewhere near you and your laptop is trying to connect to it (with no success, either because of mac-access control, or wep, or something else)

Agreed, it is another wireless network in the area that you are picking up on the laptop.
