Need Help On Internet Router

I have been through 5 internet routers over the past 2 years, they keep breaking down i have tried almost every brand(linksys,netgear,and some others) and they all quit working after a few months. we have 6 computers wired through them and its an 8 port router but they just quit working please help me find out why.

Hmm with your statement its hard to give an educated guess on what could be wrong, Could you possibly give more details such as did you noticed the network deterioating after router was installed or anything else. Could be that its not the routers. Did you ever change all the networking cables going from the router to the computers?

I once had a devil of a time with one of my cables, turns out there was a small nick in the cable that you couldn't see and it wrecked havoc with me.

The more you can remember perhaps we might be able to help you determine why the routers go bad (if it was the router).

yes we try changing all the cables around but it still doesnt work. when we bypass the router entirely and hook it up straigh to the computer it works, and when we got new routers it worked then. and no the network wasnt deteriorating
