Thin Client LAN Party
Is there a way to do a small install in a client than run the full install on a server for a LAN party game. This way weaker CPU's could run games a little over their heads, with good graphics cards?
I was thinking of doing this for UT2004 my friends don't really want to upgrade their entire system, so this way they could run it off the server and only upgrade the video card in their PC. We would be running giga-bit LAN so the network should hold up with 6-8 PC's on a dual Xeon server, right?
The current CPUs are 800Mhz to 1.4 Ghz.

No, that idea will not work. The server could on be used to run the "dedicated game server", if the game has one, and possibly as a place the lcoal computers could install the game too. This second item probably will not even be worth it for most games for various reasons.
