    no, this is in texas. I don't think my apartment uses netreg, but it uses something. ideas?

    crossing place has apartment in austin, lansing and college station, as well as in knoxville. I configured their network along with another company, all I can say is good luck, if your there. www.crossingplace.com they may be calling something different in TX.

    so in a nutshell...

    your apartment is offering free broadband and you're not willing to comply with what they're asking you to do...pardon me but upon reading your post, i am not that sympathetic.

    so...either you sign up for a subscriber ISP package (if that is possible) or you move out or do what they ask and register your MAC.

    Maybe free is not the right word, the ethernet is included. Even if it was free, it comes with a steep price, a very low bandwidth cap and privacy.

    FYI, most places to this to block P2P programs, not to "spy" on you, that would be an impossible task with as many end users that a apartment complex would have. Sence the IPS in in their name it puts they liable for what is downloaded, like MP3s and Movies, so the do this to save their butts from the RIAA, not to make your life hard.
