Thread: Bridging Connections?
November 2nd, 2004, 08:54 PM #1
I have a server (windows 2000 server) and a wireless card in this server (linksys WRT54G)
Could I put a nic card into this server, and "bridge it" to a hub on my desk? I would like some wired links in my room, but don't want to run the wires from downstairs!
Would this give me internet also?

I was trying to do the same thing with ICS using wireless to the PC then wired to a hub, but could not get it to work right. The other PCs that conected to the hub would pull a IP but not a default gateway, so no internet, but I could share files and such. I too wanted internet on the other PCs. I have not tried bridging yet.BSOD.........
The reason why I'll be drunk tonight.
Are you a winner?

you have to bridge them for them to pull the gateway...actually....when u bridge them..your computer acting as the bridge becomes the gateway (as far as i know)
