    networking my two old PC's

I have two older PC's both with Windows 98SE OS.I was wondering first is it worthwhile networking the two together, what would I gain? And secondly is it difficult to do? I have a vast array of hardware and the computer shop said I would need a hub. Do you have a link for this? As you can see I am a novice. I fix old HP LJ printers and give them away to needy students and am always looking for old parts and printers to fix, any suggestions on that as well? Sorry about all the questions.

You can connect the two together with a "cross-over" cable (providing they both have a network card installed). What would you gain is a question only you could answer. Sharing printers, files, etc, comes to mind.

Where would I check each computer to find if I had a network card?
