| Accessing my computer through the internet.
Hi, I have a computer that can be connected to the internet by using a modem. Is there anything I can do so I will be able to connect to my computer and access my files through the internet while my pc is connected? Thank you. |

Is this a phone modem or broadband modem? PcAnywhere and VNC are two that I know of and XP pro has a remote feature. I think if you do a search under the "Networking and Internet" heading and look for "remote" you will probably find more. |

And if you don't have a static IP, go to DYNDNS and sign up for their free service. |

*** The pc you want to connect to MUST have a static IP.
| BS, you just have to know the IP it has at the time you want to connect.

Actually 192.168.x.y is internal, 192.0.0.0-192.167.255.255 and 192.169.0.0-192.255.255.255 are public. |
