I have 3 'puters on the network. 2 xp pro ,1 win me. The pros access all. The me gets the unable to browse network message. I've been searching the forums and trying things but can't figure it out. I get this mesage even with ZA turned off. |

I have had ZA all the time. How do see if xp firewall is on?

I turned off xp firewall. Same message. I'm studying those links. I'll get it eventually. |

Forget about browsing with network places/neighborhood. Use the UNC path to browse to or map a drive on the remote computer.
From run \\servername or you could use the IP \\192.168.1.2 or whatever. If you know the name of the shared resources then you can add that \\servername\share
Then just map the drive and be done with Network Places. It is and has always been a pitiful tool for network connectivity when no WINS or local domain dns server is available.
You can also turn the master browser off on the ME machine. You could be having a browser war. The best advice is to remove ME from your network, no your life. Not practical perhaps but it is just the right thing to do. |

Thanks all,
The problem is fixed. When the 'puter was booted the login password box comes up. We always hit the escape key because it was faster and easier than typing in the password, as the 'puter would boot and run. We never accessed the others, they always needed to get into the ME.
