Yea, I know what you're talking about, but after you set up everything, is the connection always on or did it require a username and password; kinda like a dial-up account?

Isn't that how PPoE works? Username and password?

I'm on SBC here. I've got some Walmart Linksys router and it works perfectly fine. Don't expect to run any servers or anything though since SBC seems to have a thing for running their entire show as a giant LAN.

I think I got it to work once, but then once I turned off the PC I could never get the network to work again. Baaaah, o well, here I am now- paying 20 bucks more for adelphia -_-

No, I do not have to use a username and password to logon. I can turn the modem on and off without having to login like dial-up.
