Hi,
certainly firefox / thunderbird combo or mozilla , remember you'll need IE to get updates
etc from M$ , also i hear a couple of online sites in the UK won't accept anything but IE
e.g. purchasing national lottery tickets

You just right click anywhere on a webpage, and at the bottom of the menu is "View This Page in IE."
Adblock is the extension I use for blocking Flash ads. I also use the BBCode extension. |

It's not a good idea to completely get rid of Internet Explorer for one main reason. Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer ("explorer.exe" in the Task Manager) are pretty much one in the same. If you completely got rid of IE, you'd most likely be in for a fun reinstall of Windows. |

Just enter the name of the japanese site in google, and next to the link it shows, click translate this page.
