| If you have verizon DSL...
could you please tell me how much "An additional monthly Supplier FUSF recovery charge and, where applicable, a tax recovery charge applies and will be added to your monthly bill" costs? I was reading the small print and then i read this. I was thinking about getting verizon but i dont want to buy the year commitment for $30 dollars a month and have to pay an additional 20 dollars or so. So how much does it add to the monthy bill? |

Call the crooks er.. Verizon and ask. If they are like the other bells, they can't even tell you. I think they make it up as they go.

Good luck getting a straight answer from an online customer service rep. Instead, go to a local Verizon dealer and inquire about the associated costs.
BTW, I have a Verizon wireless unlimited data connection. The base cost is $79.99 per month, but taxes and surcharges run it up to around $95.

| If you are talking about the data connection, it is roughly equivelent to ISDN in 1xRTT (144kbps burst) areas. It jumps to around low-end DSL in select metro areas offering EV-DO (500kpbs average, 2mbps burst) if you have a compatible card. I am using the Audiovox 5220, which offers support for both. The latency is the downfall of the situation. It is barely better than dialup when operating within a 1xRTT network. http://www.techlow.com/Verizon%20EVD...nd%205220.html
I have a Verizon wireless connection due to location and portability issues. However, it should not be considered "broadband" unless you reside and work within a EV-DO network area. |

| You have a wired connection provided by Comcast. I am talking about a wireless (cellular) connection provided by Verizon. I was just offering my costs as a comparative of what Verizon tacks onto its base Internet service prices. |

Actually I contacted Verizon about the surcharges. Not surprisingly they didn't tell me what I wanted to know. In the end it didn't really matter. :shifty eyes:
