verizon fios and their dumb router - solved

Ok so we finally got fios because their basic dsl was being taken down so often. Well they guys come in and set it up, but the router, a dlink 624 extreme g, the wirred computers work just fine, however all of our wirless b cards can see the lan, but can't connect, nor ping the lan.

Were running some older belkin wirless b F506020 cards, a belkin external adapter, and an internal toshiba adapter.

At first he started off "oh well, we have an adapter for 60 bucks" ...and I don't think that is necessary. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this running? I don't want to spend 60 per comp for external wifi adapters. I tempted to blame the router tho...

Edit-- Yeah, the original router they brought was messed up...swapped that and everything works fine.

I would consider some newer G cards. Look on www.pricewatch.com
they have D Link G cards for around $28-32 each. Some of the older cards were finicky and liked to work with their own brand of stuff.
