A Good Free FTP client?
the only one I've checked out is "FileZilla" so far.
I need to send Ringtones to a website, for others to download to their cellphones, .mp3, .m4a, .acc, .qcp
I don't know much aboput FTP other than what the acronym stands for, and have googled some things
doing from my XP Pro machine, DSL 3000down/768up (stated speeds) more like 2650down/550up
info? advice? things that really matter?

ws ftp was very good until they released the NEW ALL IMPROVED version. PM me if you want the old file, it was free back in the day.
I also hear Core FTP is quite good.
Wait, I just re read your post and I got confused. Are you looking to SERVE the files? or do you just need to upload them to a server.
I swear father, the aliens confuse us allLast edited by lost-and-found; April 5th, 2005 at 04:37 PM.

dude you're giving up on filezilla?!?
It works fine!
Helicopters don't fly; they vibrate so much and make so much noise that the earth rejects them.

Just download the executable.
I used to use CuteFTP but I find Filezilla better. It's got a few more features and it's free!

you know how I hate to RTFM
I used to use FileZilla but it started giving me problems and now I use AceFTP Pro.
I had the same drag/drop problem with FileZilla too so you might want to look into one of these others (I highly recommend DeluxeFTP):
DeluxeFTP
fireFTP (Firefox extension which is actually a very good FTP client)
AceFTP Free
As far as connection problems, what errors are you getting?
