Connecting 2 laptops to one wireless router

I am a computer spaz trying to connect 2 laptops toa broadband internet connection via a linksys wireless g access point but simply cant get it to happen?! one laptop is working fine but the other connects to the wireless connection but wont access the net... i know this is very vague but any help would be appreciated!!

the laptop that connections but wont access the network can you ping the router? Can you ping websites?

nope... no luck... this connection actually worked last week but i then used another ISP at another place and set this up using their disc. Since returning, this connection isn't working...

could you please give more info on your network?

I see you are using an access point, do you have a router also?

wireless g access point model wap54g off arescom netDSL 800 modem... as much as i know...

That's your problem then. Broadband providers typically only allow one IP, unless you pay for two or more. Buy yourself a cheap router and plug the AP into one of the LAN ports. That or call your provider and lease another IP.

i see, but as mentioned, I had this setup going not more than a week ago... problem only occured after I used another ISP for a few days at a friends place??
