Networking accross a carpark.

Hi guys, I would like to link up two places that is about 100m to 150m apart (Its a carpark with cars parking most of the time full. I understand that I can do that by buying a booster or something like that or a good networking product.

Any recommend for best combo:

1. Wireless ADSL modem router with at least 1 lan port.
2. USB or PCI wireless adaptor.
3. PCMCIA Wireless Card

Thanks.

You'll probably need more than one base station. I'd go for #1.

ive seen it done. you need one base station and one repeater. this is how i think you are doing it.

[ <- 100 m -> ]
[ *Base station here ] with a repeater there
[ Repeter here ->*] <- you can get all the wireless out here on your pcmcia card out here.

the thing is that ypu have to het a highly directioinal antenna on the base station pointing
to the repeater. then an hi gain omni directional on the repeater.

check out the new srx technology from linksys. You may be able to just use a pcmcia srx card from linksys and a srx capable linksys router and make the shot without a repeater.....and still get a decent signal! lol. I'm not sure exactly how far 150m is...isn't it about 400 ft?

For a PCI or a USB, I recomend USB, reason being that It is placed on top od a desk and not below near the tower. I could Find anything that was SRX but this will work.

^this is a Hawking Directional So you have to face it to where the signal is coming from that way it is a stronger singnal.
Have fun
