    how does this computer have internet????

     
    one of the computers in my home network here is funny.
    the IP that Windows gave it is 142.59.47.148 but the gateway IP is 142.59.44.1

    UM???? 44 is no the same as 47, the gateway and the IP don't match so how the heck is it connected? the internet works fine.

    It must have a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0 or similar variation that puts it in the same subnet.

    to elaborate, any of these subnets would also work...

    255.255.128.0
    or 255.255.192.0
    or 255.255.224.0
    or 255.255.240.0
    or 255.255.248.0
    or 255.255.252.0
