| Internet Connection Slowdown Behind Belkin Router
This has me boggled.
I have a Model# F5D7230-4 Belkin 802.11g Wireless router Firmware Version 5.00.02. For testing purposes I have only my main computer connected to it with a Comcast Cable 6MB connection.
My problem? When I have the cable "modem" connected directly to my computer, I get the full 6MB of bandwidth (as reflected by speedtests and observing comparisons in downloads). However, when I have the cable "modem" connected to the WAN port on my router and my computer plugged into the #1 port on the router I get about 384KB download speeds. A huge drop.
Does anyone know what the problem is or has anyone had this problem with this router or another brand/version? I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks |

BELKIN SUCKS! See my thread earlier on belkin router slowdown: http://www.techimo.com/forum/t144463.html
I just received *another* replacement yesterday. If this third router strikes out, I'm gonna switch over to linksys. |

Oh ok so it's not just me that has had this problem. I have never used Belkin before and since it was on sale I decided to try it. I like Cisco/Linksys network products. I also have never had a problem with them.
Thansk for the replies. I will now take my truck and run over this belkin and buy some real equipment. |
