Trouble with Lichen, no Tiscali.
On the internet side of Tiscali I have been very happy. The connection is fast and a much better improvement over AOL (yuck) and wanadoo (or wanadont).
My troubles arose when I changed my phone side of things to the smartalk weekend extra to the smartalk anytime. Both packages are bundled with the 1 MB Broadband. Now the anytime was £5 more and as I understand it for £20 a month I get my broadband and free weekend and week day calls on the telephone for LOcal and national calls. Sounded excellent. So subscribed to this package and paid the extra but in my invoices I was still being charged for my weekday local calls, I was paying for the upgrade but still receiving the old service of free weekend extra. So I e-mailed them and after two weeks I got a reply saying the admin team were looking into the error. Ok. But after another month the next bill arrives same as usual and of course the wife has assumed its free as its meant to and been on the phone to her sisters all the time. So I wrote a letter recorded delivery. But no reply and the Direct debit has gone through.
I joined tiscali about march I think on a twelve month contract. I think as they have not kept to their conditons I will end the contract but I will have still lost out on money. Maybe Oftel could help.
I will now need to find a broadband supplier and would like your recommendations please.

Tell Tiscali to sort it out and recredit you immediately, or you will claim back under the Direct Debit Guarantee scheme and cancel the DD.
