In my network I have a router with a proxy server and a few computers attached to it in a vlan setup.
My router is using the standard 192.xxx.xxx.xxx addressing while my proxy's subnet is using 90.xxx.xxx.xxx. Everything is all wired together, and the only way I have it segmented is by the use of the subnet.
My question is as follows: The router I have is wireless, and my laptop connects directly to it (in a matter of speaking). It gets assigned a 192 series address, so obviously I can't physically see the other computers in the network. - If I were to manually set the address to be next in the 90 series, do you think that the router will act as a gateway, or do I have to set something from within the router itself? Will I need to get another wireless AP and set its address as the same series as my proxy server - for the subnet?
The movers came over already and took everything I own, so this question is just something I've been wondering about since I've set up my proxy server. I won't be able to test it out for a while, but any info you guys have would be great. Sorry if the questions seem kinda' basic.
Thanks in advance.
