| Some issues. Stupid router! -_-
Ok im running a DG632 router with V3.4.0_ap firmware on a 2.2Mb BT boadband connection. The problem I have is, if im downloading something with Bittorent or im downloading something using my browser I cant view web pages! It just says "Server not found". I did noy have this problem before, its just started now I have installed this router! I have also noticed that my speed has dropped a little in general! Also if I am trying to load for example 3 pages at the same time I usually get the "Server not found" error. What is going on? Anybody give me any help please?
Thanks |

Is that the latest firmware? Alot of home routers have reported having issues with being able to handle torrent traffic. Do you have the correct ports forwarded?
What program are you using? |

No its not the latest. The only reason why I dont want to update is the last time I tried to update my router died and I had to RMA. And yes the ports are open and im using uTorrent. But its not just downloading torrents, if im downloading a file with my browser my internet connection plays up! And my speed has dropped in general, not just while downloading. Most of the time while downloading I cant even access sites!
The problem HAS to be the router. My connection was 100% perfect while I was using my BT modem |

You shouldnt have any problems updating firmware unless the power goes out midway or you are trying to do it over a wireless link. I would update the firmware and see if that clears up the problem. |

It looks like your not the only one having problems with this router and bittorrent. In the end, it seems the actual hardware struggles with maintaining so many connections that bittorrent requires to run.
I would, of course, update to the latest firmware ( 3.6.0) as GZ has already mentioned.
Your just gonna have to decide which is more important.. A newer (possibly faster) firmware, or the old one that freezes/chokes/explodes etc...
If you do decide to upgrade, and the issues aren't resolved, I'd look into returning it (if possible) and getting a different model..
some forum links I've looked over about this router: DG632-1 DG632-2 DG632-3

Firmware can also contain security updates along with fixes for issues others have had. |
