Belkin F5D7230-4 wireless router problem

Hi. I got myself a Belkin F5D7230-4 wireless router and manage to configure it for use. However, the wireless connection is buggy i.e. it get disconnected every few minutes and then detected it again and seek reconnection. This caused me to unable to download anything big and it's quite frustrating. Is it because of configuration? I have set the leasing time to forever. I also noted that the network speed is sometimes significantly slower. I have another wireless router by Mentor and it has no such problem. Any ideas?

Do you have the latest firmware installed?

what is the distance between your router and your client?

What channel are you running it on?

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I have installed the latest firmware and it's about 3 feet or 1m away from the router. But then I do not know what do you mean by channel? I have configured it to 11 channels.
