    Exclamation blinking blinking dsl (grrrrrrrrr)

making a long story brief. Ordered dsl from Verizon 4 weeks ago. Rec'd 1st Westell Versalink modem and dsl would not sync only blinked and blinked. Called tech support went through their routine checks. They sent out technican next day, he ran a homerun in the house and with his modem got great reading said we had defective modem. Rec'd 2nd Westell Versalink modem, same thing, just blinking and blinking. Went and bought a 3rd modem at Circuit City and (verizon brand) still just blinking. They sent out technician again and he tested line can't understand why it won't sync because he got great numbers with his modem. He said he was sending another guy the next day. Well, you know he didn't show. So finally we get another tech and he rewired the jack still its just blinking. He says he'll be back the next day with his own personal Westell 2200. He comes the next day, and viola it works! connects immediately, no blinking light (this is on loan from the Verizon tech). So call up tech support and he says they no longer carry the 2200 so he's shipping me Westell 6600 this should work. It dosen't work, just blinks. So they are going to send me Westell 6610 which I rec'd yesterday. Same thing it won't sync, just blinks. Sooooooooo so anyone have any idea why none of these modems will sync up in my home only the 2200 will? Tech support has no clue and "supposedly is searching their warehouse to see if they can find a 2200". Would appreciate all your help

If you've tried all these different modems and only 1 works its a safe bet its not a modem problem, but either a problem with your telephone service provider or your TCP/IP settings. Getting them to send someone out, often doesn't solve the problem as they run through preset checks on preset systems - you'd be better off thinking about it yourself and eliminating problems 1 at a time.

    Check the following

DSL filters are connected to EVERY phone line in the house
If you have any sky TV services running through your line, disconnect them temporarily
You don't have any Dialup adapters in your TCP/IP settings from previous modem installs.

you can reset your TCP/IP settings using the following tool:
