| Dad's Laptop can't access internet
Hey guys,
Here's the deal.
My dad's laptop just suddenly stopped going on the internet. It connects fine, it can see other computers on the network, but when it tries to do anything internet based, it doesn't do anything. I've tried resetting the router, the modem; tried restarting the laptop a million times, but still, nothing. I've even gone into device manager and uninstalled his device, then restarted it to let it reinstall, but it still gave the same result.
So tell me, what's up with that? |

Can you access an IP address? Like the router or modem? |

yes i can access the router.....it gives me an ip address....i can access files from other computers on it....but when it goes on the internet....email.....msn.....nothing happens....but every other computer works
-edit- i've tried both wired and wireless on the laptop, both producing non-internet accessing results. -edit-

I know it may sound obvious and you've probably already tried it...... but when that happened to me it was something to do with my firewall and spyware doctor on my comp ! Try turning them off and see if that helps ? |

I only got as far as turning all internet programs off and then turning each one back on to find out the fault, dunno about uninstalling it ! You could try 'Diagnose connection problems' in the tools button ! But thats as far as my knowledge goes sorry |
