Help me set up a Static IP
I am trying to configure my Linksys WMP54G wireless card with my Linksys WRT54G wireless router to use a Static IP Address. I'm doing this for Bittorrent reasons.
I've got the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway down with no problem, however, I am quite confused when it comes to the DNS Server(s).
In inpconfig /all, it tells me that my DNS Servers are 192.168.1.1. That's all it tells me. That's also my defauly gateway. Not sure if that means anything or not. What do I do to correctly configure the DNS Servers (Preferred and Alternate) and is there anything that I should be doing within my router's settings?
Thanks.Intel Core i7-860 OCed to 4.0GHz | ASUS P7P55D-E | G.Skill 8192MB (4x2048MB) RAM | MSI GTX 280 | 2x Seagate 160GB 7200.11 RAID 0

The configuration for the DNS Servers should come from your ISP. Contact them to find out what that is going to be. I hope that this helped. Take Care.
