AOL Parental Control problem

Hi Not sure if this is where I should ask this question. Here is my problem. I have aim & then downloaded AOL parental controls internet access program. They both have different screen names, I wasn't able to get the same name for both. The problem is that somehow the parental control program picked up the aim screen name, only for the uninstall part. We can sign on through the internet access with the right screen name, but I have bought another program to use for the parental controls since I wasn't happy with the AOL program. Now I am trying to uninstall the AOL parental control internet access program and it says it is not authorized to uninstall on this computer because the names don't match. I just want to get rid of this program. If anyone can please help me with this I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

Had the same problem, searched the web until I found someone who had spoken with an escalated AOL helpdesk person who finally knew how to do it:

Remove the following files:

* C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\spcflt.sys
* C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\spcstb.sys
* C:\Program Files\Common Files\aol\1127593350\ee\services\ver2_0_10_16\serv iceManifest.xml

Reboot, and afterwards the computer will work fine.

Hi thanks for this. My mum had given my daughter her old computer, we do not use AOL and had no way of fiding out what this passwoed should be. 4 MONTHS we having tried to sort this, and now thanks to this info we can now use it.
