| Limited or No Connectivity
I just rearranged my work area. I unplugged the hub with the power off and everything, and now on my PC, it tells me 'Limited or no Connectivity'.
The settings show that it should receive the IP and DNS details from the router connected to the network hub, but that does'nt seem to be happening with this PC.
I know its an issue with the PC becuase I just plugged in my laptop tp a lead coming from the hub, and I can get that internet and LAN connection. But nothing on the PC.

Try right clicking on the icon the message came from and hitting repair. Usually "Limited or no connectivity" means it couldn't get an ip from the dhcp server. Repairing will reinitiate the process. |

Yep, tried that several times. Still the same. Tried restarting too, same problem.
I even inputted the details manually, the message disappears, but no internet access. |

Check to see if the light at the back of your computer where the network cable plugs in is on. That will indicate physical connectivity.
If physical connectivity is available try checking the "status" of your network connection. See if any Packets are being sent or received.
If you have physical connectivity and you have packets being sent and received I would have to look into it more. I won't be near a computer for the rest of the week though. Hope you get it figured out, you might try another network cable to see if it got pinched during the "move". |

I've gotten that problem before. It's very irritating. I guess the only thing I can add is that the one thing to do as far as figuring this out would be to turn everything off, unplug it all ( power ) and then start up the modem, turn on the router/hub after the modem has connected and then start up the PC's on the network. When all else fails, that seems to do the trick. IF there is still a problem with one PC on the network, then it's likely a hardware problem, especially if you've used that cable effectively on another PC. |

Yep the light is there.
Regarding the status, it seems to be sending packets, but it hasnt received anything. When I enter in an IP addres, Subnet and Gateway the message disappears and says its connected, but theres no connectivity via the LAN or internet.
I'll try and switch cables. |

You are using the right cables? Some routers auto switch though.
Have you rest the modem?
You entered in your internet information in where? The router or in your NIC TCP settings?
Don't know what kind of internet you have, but do you have PPOE? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PPOE
What kind of router is this, what ISP do you use and you do see the LED for internet statues blinking on the router? |

The router and whole setup was working perfectly just before the move. So there isnt any hardware issues, as far as router and hub compatibilty is concerned.
I entered the information on my PC, under the IP/TCP properties.
The internet is working. Its working when I plug a cable from the hub into my laptop, and the wireless is working aswell. Its JUST that PC, that the network isnt working with. |

Could be a winsock problem or you have some IP address setings wrong I think.
You don't have ADSL? I figured you might not have your routers IP address from the modem configured right. There is heart beat, static etc. for IP address settings.
I believe the ISP "Be there" is ADSL.
Best to look under ipconfig.
Under RUN type CMD then ipconfig/all. See what it says. May help by doing an IP release as well. IE: ipconfig/release

The problem is now solved.
I entered in the details manually, I think I only entered in the DNS information and told the computer to reteive the IP automatically. What ever I did it worked. |
