| problems with Netgear WGT624v3
Hey guys. I've been having a problems with my Netgear router...I have a desktop and a laptop and my Wii hooked up to it. I can connect to the internet with the Wii and the laptop, but the desktop doesnt work. I've turned everything off and all, no dice. I've tried repairing it, nothing. The dektop works just fine when I run the modem to the desktop. Any ideas, fellas? Thanks all. |

we need a little more info is this a wired or wireless connection? does the pc get an IP address from the router? can you ping the router? see other computers on the network ect.

Oh, I'm sorry bout that. Okay. The laptop and Wii are wireless, and the desktop is wired. On my lappy, I can access the router, and it see both comps on it. The desktop says it gets an ip from the router, but I can't access the router's config settings on it. Also, I noticed that while I can't get on the net with the desktop, I'm able to download on my bittorent client. As for pinging the router, how would I do this? Mind you, this is all while the router is hoked up. Anything else? |

Well if you are able to download from the net and the lappy can see the pc on the network then you are getting an ip. So that means your browser isn't working properly, are you using IE or Firefox? have you tried a different browser? are you running a firewall??
to ping the router start>run>cmd in the command window type in ping 192.168.2.1 or whatever your routers IP is you can also try pinging a website such as google 64.233.167.99 |

sounds like you might have some spyware/adware or even a possible virus I'd run scans with adaware and spybot |
