Problems with wireless broadband card.

I use a sprint mobile broadband USB modem for my internet at my house. All I can get is dial up out here so this is the closest thing I have to real internet. But I have a problem with it. For most of my games, when I go to play online, after about 5 minutes it disconnects. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and knows how to fix it. Its really getting annoying because I want to use teamspeak and play, but that doesn't work well with dial up.

I was thinking maybe it was because I was using too much bandwidth or something? Please help. Here is what I have if it helps: http://www.sprint.com/business/produ...PcsPhones.html

I dont know how stable those connections.

Run a speed test and post back what you are getting

My thoughts are that the wireless should be better but maybe your in a spot will poor reception? Im not sure how well gaming would work on that either.

Ok, I did the speed Test and got this:

204 kbps download
105 upload
244 ping

I know its not the best, but it does ALOT better than dial up out here. Its not true broadband, and being out in the country doesnt help. Is there anything I can do to stop disconnecting?

It works fine with SA:MP and a couple of other games. but for most games like WoW and Halo it disconnects after a few minutes.

Now SA:MP (San-Andreas Multiplayer) is a modification for GTA, and it works fine. Im guessing because the servers are different or because its not an actual part of the game or something. Thats where my theory comes in about this card having some kind of blocking software installed on it, maybe it doesnt recognize it as a game.

What is your signal strength? Does it vary a lot? Try moving the USB broadband adapter to a different location, or even sticking it outside. A USB extension cable would help a lot here.
