finding an IP Address through AIM

hello, i was wondering if it is possible to find the IP address of someone using only their AIM name or their AOL Email address.

my girlfriend has been acting suspiciously lately and i think she may be flirting with others under a different screen name than the one i know of. im looking to see if there is any way i can trace the IP Address of the AOL screenname that she talks to me on and the AOL screenname that i suspect she is sneaking behind my back with, in hopes of matching them up so i have hard evidence that its her, incase she tries to deny it. i dont want to accuse her of something if im completely wrong, either, so i really need to find some way to compare the IP addresses of the two different names.

i dont want to continue things if she's sneaking behind my back, but i also dont want to think i cant trust her if im just being paranoid, so finding these ip adresses is important to me.

the only real information i have are the two AOL screennames, is there any way to find the ip addresses with just that?

Finding their IP addy is going to do you little good, and no AOL won't give you the info and there is no way to obtain it with just a screen name or AIM name.

it would do me good in the sense that i would know if the two names were both her, or if im just being paranoid. i would have evidence when i confront her about it, so she cant claim that im just assuming things.

is there any way to see if the two names are part of the same account, at least? im basically just looking for any way of connecting the two names with eachother.

Best advice talk to your girl!! Stop trying to spy on her. If you aren't trusting her and trying to spy on her then the two of ya already got some issues to figure out.

Yeah, but AOL isn't going to give you their IP/identity without a court order.

How about you pick a different screen name, start chatting with this girl who you suspect might be your girlfriend and ask her for a pic

You can find their IP adress but you have to Directly Connect. After you directly connect you can do it using NetStat but I forget the exact procedure. An easier way would be to use Gaim (now called Pidgin) and when you Directly Connect it says "Directly Connecting with xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx"

if you have access to the pc, aol usually caches all usernames that logged into it in a drop down menu.

I believe you can search for buddy's by email address. If you know her email address then you can use that to search for any screen names she creates with that email.
