| Level One Router To 3com Switch Connection
Hi,
I need to connect a level one router to a 3com 8port switch, is it ok if i connect some computers directly to the router and other computers to the switch?
Please help on the best way of connection for better perfomance.
Thank you. |

Thank you for the quick reply.
What is the best speed for my ethernet cards on the computers, 10mbps,100mbps or auto?.. i work in a net cafe and sometimes when a client brings a laptop to plug in it doesnt work at first until i change the card speed to 10mbps, sometimes when it works at autosense then it slows down my whole network. is the connection speed a big issue here or sometimes its just coincidence??
Cosmas. |

When you plug the laptop into the 3com switch or the router do you have speed issues?
What is the exact model of the router and the 3com switch |

Sorry, but this is another issue, here i am using two CNett switches,8port and 16 port so the speed problem comes when i plug in to any of the two switches. |

What are the port speeds on the switches? Most switches should be set to autosense (depending on how old they are).
Some really old ones dont have autonegotiate on the switch. Does your switches support that. (look up the models on the manufactures website) |
