I changed a win98 system over to win2kpro and now I can't get the internet sharing to work. I have my network working as I can transfer files from one to another. I tried to set it up just like practicallynetworked said and still a no go. I have the sharing on my 1.3 tbird and tring to connect to the net on my durron.The durron tci/ip is set to obtain auto. What could I be missing?
How are you sharing it?
We connected a 98 and 2K box here no problems. Had the line into the 98 box, just enabled ICS and used a crossover cable between the 2. Set both to auto detect and had no problems.
Is the 2K box actually connected to the net or the 98?
krohnjw I changed the win98 to win2kpro so they are both running win2kpro. I used to have hooked up just like you listed, but for some reason with win2kpro on it now I can't get it to go.
If it is dial up just enable the sharing on the dial up connection and see how it works. Make sure that the other Comp has IE set up to use the LAN for the internet. Also check ipconfig to see if IP's are all set for both. I would imagine they are though if the networks fine....just gotta be thorough

OK Im on dail up and both puters ping and the ip's are set right as is the subnet mask, I noticed when I try to connect on the durron(client so to speak) the network icon shows sending packets but still unable to connect
