| Is there such a thing as a wireless network card?
Is there any hardware I can install in my computer that allows it to connect to a wireless LAN so that wherever I take my computer I'll be able to connect to other wireless networks? Currently I have a wireless network adapter that I plug into my computer using a usb port but it would be better if there was something actually within the computer that could do the same thing. Any help would be appreciated.

Depending on your PC, what you are looking for is a wireless network adapter than can be installed in a PCI slot on your motherboard. There are a variety of brands and pricings for such adapters; start by looking at the range here (assuming you are in the US, that is).
If you need help deciding which one may work for you, you'll need to post details about your PC (motherboard brand and model, what is already installed on the motherboard PCI slots, what operating system you use, for starters)
Cheers
Mick

It's going to be difficult to recommend anything specific without knowing what laptop you have. Normally the best approach is a PC Card or PC Expresscard, depending on the capability of your laptop. |
