Disable Delete In Windows XP network share

As you can see this is my first post, and it's a good one I think. I have set up a computer with windows xp prof on it. I have 3 network shares but for the point of this we will only use one.

On that one share I have first disable simple file sharing.
Next I enabled the share permissions as Read and Change. Both are checked.
Third I went into the permissions tab and on the everyone group made read, writing, etc enabled and deleting of any kind denied.

Now for what I am curious about. Is there a way to make it to where say roommate A can go to his computer, access the network shares, read the directory, write to the directory (add files and whatnot), but make it so that he CANNOT delete files.

I know there has to be a way, but I have tried just about everything and finally succumbed to the fact I need help. So do you know how I can make it to where a person cannot delete files in a networked directory but can add files?

Create per user a different profile, give them access to the folders, but set them up as normal users, then they don't have the rights to delete anything permanently.

I tested out your theory and it worked. I had been working on it as an admin and was wondering why none of the permissions would work. I just tested it under the roommates account and he can indeed read/write but cannot delete. So the question is:

Is it the host computer (The one with the network shares and permissions)
Or the client computer (Roomate has VERY limited functionality)
that makes it to where he cannot delete? Because if it's the client then in theory I could turn simple file sharing on again yes?
