Router log-in/port forwarding help!

ok i have a netgear dg834gt wireless router, i am using a laptop wirelessly

i am trying to port forward my router so i can get people to play on my runescape private server.

i put the ip in the address bar, enter the default user and pass but it prompts me again for it. i retype and it prompts again and again...

whats wrong, i really want to be able to portforward!

i have windows vista.

Thread titles like "help" don't do much good so I changed it.

What browser are you using? You are using the default log-in meaning you never changed it to begin with? Are you sure you've got the right log in and it indeed was never changed?

Someone has been messing with your password LOL

With the router on, press and hold the reset button for about 30 seconds. Usually it's in the back. You might need a pin or toothpick to push it in. This should reset the administrator username and password to the default settings. Generally, netgear defaults should be "admin" for the username and "password" or "1234" for the password.
