BT homehub & Belkin Wireless G router REPEATER Problem

hi, im new to this forum and I see you guys actually do seem to know how to do this so im hoping ive come to the right place. I recently moved having a network set up in my old house all hardwired but now Im having to go wireless Ive ran into Problems. Now what im trying to do isnt that hard probably for you guys but its driving me insane..

2 Pc's - 2 Routers

BT homehub - connected to the Internet (currently wirelessly connected to PC 1)

What i want to do is..

Belkin G Wireless Router as Repeater off the BT homehub - Hardwired to both machines (PC 1 & PC 2)

Ive tried setting this up but Im gettin conflicts from both wireless and its cutting my internet off completely to PC 1.. Ive checked out both BT and Belkin's Site and neither helped me in anyway, or at least i didnt understand it..

Can anyone help me out in getting the whole lot to connect seemlessly or some kinda step bys tep to help me out.. Ive spent days trying and im running out of hair to pull out..lol

Cheers

jim

Honestly, I would throw out the homehub piece of crap and get any other modem/router I could. Mine lasted two or three days with problems before it clapped out.
Using the hub (a rebadged Thomson unit, IIRC) I would make sure both wireless units used different channels. Also, I think you need to set the Belkin specifically as a bridge.
Or are you trying to use the Belkin as a "receiver" and have the two PCs wired to that? In which case, I would suggest you lash out about 25-30 quid on a pair of wireless network cards for the PCs.

ok thanks for the links Keymaker but in all honesty ive looked at them already, tried to follow what people are saying and i keep crashing both routers resulting in me having to completely reset both routers as neither will respond after ive tinkered with them.. The BtHub Crashes after I search for The belkin and my pc goes haywire trying to connect to either after this..

Im not sure If my belkin router is working properly, even tho it is pretty much new... hope it aint broke coz my brothers going to b*tch slap me back to beijing if it is lol..

The problem seems to mainly be the crashing part searching for a repeater on the Hub.. I have almost set up the Belking router as ive seen others do it from guides on here.. Changing the Wan Ip on it tho Just seems to freeze up the belkin one and then I have to start again by resetting it completely..

The idea was to use the belkin as repeater and then Hardwire both or even just one Pc to the Belkin router so i have 2 Pc's online..

Ive tried ICS aswell with my main machine which Just didnt wanna work...baring in mind im running Vista and XP on each of the Machines..

I really dont wanna have to go fork out £20 on another wireless card as I have the hardware here to do it and it jsut seem silly really..

Any other suggestions?

Thanks again

SJ

Yea paul.. i want the belkin as a receiver ... and i know what u mean about the homehub... 4th one in 6 months.. no joke mate!! I tried using the belkin as my main Router but I couldnt get it to work on my BT line.. i suppose it is possible it could be faulty.. although it has worked on a tiscali line no problem..

i jsut realised its like 6am.. ive spent the past 7 hours trying to get this to work lol... ok... I'll be back here tommorow and let you know if i had any joy....
